Bulldog Bulletin: May 2022

Hello Bulldog Families!

As we near the end of our school year, I want to congratulate the Class of 2022 upon graduating from Mahomet-Seymour High School!   We are so happy to be having our graduation ceremonies back at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts on Friday evening, May 20, 2022 at 7:00 p.m.

In other news about Mahomet-Seymour High School, U.S. News and World Report came out with the annual rankings of high schools across the country.  There are many, many ways and data sets to look at when “ranking” high schools.   This report does give a good, general snapshot of the high quality, excellent academic experience our students have at our high school.  We are ranked #63 in Illinois (out of almost 700 high schools) and we are the top ranked downstate high school in the state of Illinois.   This is something to be very proud of–and it literally takes all of us, collectively working together for many years, to establish this tradition of excellence–it doesn’t happen by accident.  Congratulations and thank you to our entire staff, from Pre Kindergarten through high school, our parents, our community and of course our students for their hard work!

In closing, when you get the opportunity, please welcome Dr. Kenny Lee to the school district and our community as the new superintendent of schools (klee@ms.k12.il.us).     He will officially start on July 1, 2022.

It has been a joy and honor to serve the Mahomet-Seymour Schools from 1994-2005 and again as superintendent for the past 5 years.  There were hard days for all of us over the past two years–but on the hardest of days, I still knew I had one of the best superintendent’s jobs anywhere, thanks to our students, staff, families and community.  Thank you!

Very sincerely,

Dr. Lindsey A. Hall
